Great food, excellent and very nice service, English speaking servers, and all around great time. Huge portion of schnitzel and well accompanied by fragrant rice and the aptly aromatic cranberries...Do not come if you do not book a table!!! The restaurant itself is very charming and in a nice location for walking. Balanced price-quality service We had the fried chicken both times and the house wine (both amazing) the beer soup we had on our second visit and it was the best we have ever had- very light, but full of flavor.After reading the excellent reviews, we decided to make a dinner reservation here. Everything was excellent. My family was not disappointed. Don't know. The portions were generous and tasty. I think I'd give this another chance given the food and atmosphere and hope for a different server.Really nice small place on the way to the Augustiner beer garden which happened to be closed so we ended up here by accident and are glad that we did.Amazing food, and one of the few that opens around 3pm.Bärenwirt is one of my favorite places in Salzburg. No one sat with us at a six top for 30 minutes. Sheeps cheese and tomato was great. We sat outside on a nice patio but definitely you need reservations.We stopped by for an early dinner on the advice of our host in Salzburg, and we were not disappointed. Could not have asked for a more authentic Austrian start! Delicious food and the service was top notch. We could not have been happier with this choice. I do not understand why it took that long for us to get our food or why others were served shortly after us even though we orders at least 40 minutes before everyone else. Our server seemed uninterested in us and was visually annoyed when we ordered and made requests. They also have a nice wine selection, although their pours are a bit on the smaller side relative to the price. I had "Austria's best fried chicken" and it was delicious--although definitely not to be compared to American fried chicken.This place should definitely go on your itinerary while you are visiting Salzburg.
